General
If you are a connoisseur of fine nude art, Michelle7 is definitely one site you need to consider joining as a member. Michelle7 is a premier adult website that specializes in the presentation of some of the finest nude photography found around the world today.
As Eric Grindrod of New Age Publications told me:
Michelle7 has been online since 1998 and has consistently showcased what can only be described as cutting edge Artistic Nude Photography. Michelle7 presents nudes from well known masters, as well as hundreds of lesser well known, but equally gifted, artists and visionaries. It is one of the web’s true mega sites. Imagery is high resolution ranging from 800 to upwards of 3,000 pixels per picture. There is a huge photo archives, book reviews, artist interviews, and so much more in every update. Michelle7 is a beautiful renegade vision of the human form not to be missed.
Michelle7 gave me access to the member’s area so I was free to look around. It is difficult to explain precisely any one feature that made the site so appealing to me. I think it is a variety of factors… everything from site design, photo galleries, content… Perhaps the easiest review is to simply tell you what I experienced.
Site Design
The majority of the member’s area page is dominated by the most recent additions to the site collection during the current month. As of the past year and a half, there are typically 30 – 40 new contributions per month from various artists arranged in two vertical columns. Each gallery has a thumbnail representation of the gallery, a short description, the number of photographs in the galleries, and the resolutions available for viewing.
The left side of the member’s area has a list of months for the current year and the months of all years since mid 2000. Galleries from 1998 to mid 2000 are available in the archives.
Content
The source of Michelle7’s content is perhaps the key to its overall appeal. Michelle7 has photographic galleries from literally hundreds of the world’s most famous erotic nude art photographers as well as a large number of yet to be discovered artists.
Though the main attraction for me was the photo galleries, there is also a section of book and film reviews. This is really a nice place to get some additional information regarding a photographer and to identify any published works available through your favorite bookstore. There is a short synopsis of the book or film and a few sample thumbnail pictures. Being a long time admirer of Gregory Galitsin, for example, I was pleased to learn that he has a book available in paper format.
There are also some biographical profiles written for the names appearing in the master list of contributors. It is one thing to identify an artist’s work that you really admire… There is an added bonus when you can learn a little more about the person behind all the photography that you like so much. There are also links to the author’s site if he has one.
Pictures
Picture Galleries are arranged on one page per month. As described above, each gallery has a short description and thumbnail representation with information about the number of images and picture resolutions.
Individual galleries are arranged so that the member does not have to scroll down the page to see all the images. Images are arranged left to right on the screen and if additional space is need to show the rest of the images, there is a link to the next page. I like seeing the next page rather than scrolling for some reason.
Each gallery has a number of image resolutions from 800, 1280, 2000 and occasionally 3000 horizontal width. That means that super images can be downloaded for future enjoyment regardless if you have a slower modem or a fast connection. Depending on your screen resolution, it is often times nice to see the window size picture when browsing.
The gallery composition is anything from a few select images to upwards of a hundred images for that gallery. Images are black and white, shades of gray, and color. Most content has a uniqueness in its subject and presentation. It is not porn, but rather erotic nude art.
Conclusion
Michelle7 is a great site to sample many of today’s leading photographic artists without joining a variety of sites. Many of the artists have more than one series in the collection. I would venture to say that if you could request more galleries from your favorites artists. Michelle7 clearly has the contacts to give members what they want in terms of content variety.
It was clear through the review process that Michelle7 has the member’s best interest at heart. This site is well thought out and presented in such as way as to give the member satisfaction on a variety of levels. If you are interested in erotic nude art, Michelle7 is a great site for both those of us who know what we like but not where to find it as well as those persons familiar with the masters of nude photographic art forms.
